G. Scudder records eight species of Gerris from BC The distribution and co-existence is documented and a key to the species is included. Collections were made from Westwick lake among others. Provincial Museum and UBC field parties conducted bird and mammal investigations in Barkley Sound from 1954 to 1970 inclusive. 55 of approx. 55 islands,islets and reefs were visited. In the summer of 1969 , Stanley L. Walsh and J.Keith Rigby surveyed the Sustut Basin and surrounding mountains in Northern BC . This report describes the physiography and geology of the region and plant communities are enumerated with an annotated list of 205 species , 11 subspecies and 35 varieties collected. See the PDF
On June 5. 1969, T.G. Northcote, and P.G. Haddock, with assistance of Mr. John L. Shephard and Miss Joan E. Heriot from the North Okanagan Naturalists Club, made a brief survey of Lilypad Lake, southeast of Vernon, to evaluate its potential as an Ecological Reserve.
