Karen Willies retires as Warden of Skihist ER

Posted February 1, 2013 | Categories : 92,People |

Karen Willies has been the ER Warden at the Skihist Ecological Reserve, near Lytton, since 1986.

Her stewardship of the area is evident in her thorough inventories of plants and animals found in the reserve, her comprehensive annual reports, and her ability to identify issues which may negatively impact the protected area.

After twenty-five years, Karen has decided the time has come to move on to newer challenges. Her dedication to the positive management of this reserve is greatly appreciated by the Fraser Area and she will be missed. However BC parks will continue to receive the benefit of her knowledge and commitment as Karen has agreed to be a BC Parks Eco Warden for a reserve closer to where she lives.

Thank you Karen, from the Fraser Area staff, past and present.
