Training Opportunities in iNaturalist for FER Members and ER Wardens

Posted June 24, 2020 | Categories : BC Parks |

If you want to participate in the BC Parks iNaturalist Project by submitting pictures of flora and fauna in the ecological reserve(s) that you care for and/or visit, but you feel uncertain about how to enter your observations, BC Parks is providing a webinar from 3:00-4:00 pm PST on Monday, June 29 via Zoom. The webinar will provide an overview of the project followed by how to use iNaturalist as well as tips and tricks, and a Q &A. Contact Rike.Moon@gov.bc.ca to attend and you will be sent the link and password to the webinar.

The session will be recorded so that ER wardens and FER members can access it afterward. Just email Rike Moon at the email address above and you will receive a link and password to the recording.

Although while there are COVID-19 restrictions this session needs to be done on-line, BC Parks is looking for ways to provide live training opportunities ideally at in-person gatherings in the future.

BC Parks has also prepared a simple, self-guided presentation in pdf form that shows volunteers how to use iNaturalist. To get a copy, email Sharilynn Wardrop at Sharilynn.Wardrop@gov.bc.ca.
