We visited this reserve with the warden Don Guild on October 10, 2012. Don contacted the resort staff at the bottom of the ski run first and then drove us up what is probably the roughest boulder strewn washed out snow-cat road (without snow) on which I have ever traveled.

The reserve starts at the top of the mountain on the back side of the ski hills.
ISSUES: The ski run is right on the edge of the reserve, and plans are available for expansion of the mountain which shows ski runs being established down the reserve side. See under management.
Also, proposed year round access to the top of the mountain would prove disastrous for the fragile vegetation on the edge of the reserve.

- One of the many mats of heather on the alpine area.

- The ravens were demonsttrating great aerial manoeuver skills that day.
