Ecological Reserve Proposal for Bear Flats

This proposal was made in 1975 for an Ecological Reserve in the Breaks of the  Peace River in the area of Bear Flats near Fort St John, BC. It  has implications for the proposed dam at Site C – on the Peace River.   Such a dam would have serious effects on this area, probably eliminating forever its future potential as an important  preserved unique ecological area.
