In the summer of 1969 , Stanley L. Walsh and J.Keith Rigby surveyed the Sustut Basin and surrounding mountains in Northern BC . This report describes the physiography and geology of the region and plant communities are enumerated with an annotated list of 205 species , 11 subspecies and 35 varieties collected. See the PDF
On June 5. 1969, T.G. Northcote, and P.G. Haddock, with assistance of Mr. John L. Shephard and Miss Joan E. Heriot from the North Okanagan Naturalists Club, made a brief survey of Lilypad Lake, southeast of Vernon, to evaluate its potential as an Ecological Reserve.
